Requesting Transfer Credits

What is credit transfer?
Credit transfer is an assurance that students get complete recognition for what they have already achieved in academics, particularly in graduate and undergraduate degrees and/or professional certifications and diplomas.

Credits are evaluated by the faculty or admission office to evaluate the value of those credits and how they will be incorporated with student’s present and future learning. Usually there is no or minimal fee for transferring credits.

The need for credit transfers
The purpose of credit transfer is to make it feasible for students to move between courses and institutions to continue their education without any problem. This facility gives student the opportunity to study their own desired courses at an institution of their choice.

Although the term can vary in articulation but generally it is used to describe the transfer of movement of student between courses and institutions. Credit transfer usually means that a student gains credit for prior study so they can complete their current qualification more quickly.

If a student wishes to apply for a credit transfer, they should fill in the perquisites with their application at the time of admission.  

Credit transfer process
Students who wish to apply for credit transfer have to provide the following for successful correspondence between courses and institutions:

• The official transcript from the institute where they completed their previous education.
• A statement and the course program description of which the students desires credit transfers.
• The institution will then evaluate your credits, transfer them and complete your admission procedure.

Credit transfers can also reduce the overall cost of education and also save time because of the student would not have to repeat the same course again. Requesting a credit transfer is only possible when a student has successfully completed certain courses and completely acquired the required points.
