The Credit Transfer Facility

Transfer credit, credit transfer or advanced standing is the term used by colleges and universities for the procedure of granting credit to a student for educational experiences or courses undertaken at another institution.
Historically credit transfer has mainly been administered on an adhoc basis by higher education institutions but it has now become an important area of national and transnational education policy, particularly in relation to mobility between countries and educational sectors.
The concept behind this facility is to save time and money of the students and make use of their preceding learning experiences. If the student has already studied some courses of high school diploma and has its transcript, the educational institution will accept the credit hours of those courses and reduce the equivalent from their program. So they won’t have to study that course again. This will reduce both the tuition and time required to complete their education.
A number of online distance learning institutes provide the Credit transfer Facility to its students. Students can also get credits for their prior learning (work/life experience, trainings etc.). If they already have strong command in some courses through their work experience, prior knowledge or trainings, etc. they can get their credits!
Credit Transfer Facility has made easy the lives of an infinite number of students, as they get recognition for their previous work experiences and cover the same educational program within less time as compared to other students who don’t have prior experience. It is a helping facility to encourage the students to move further with their future goals and understand the value of their experience and learning.
