Samut Songkhram is one of the central provinces of Thailand. Samut Songkhram borders the provinces of Phetchaburi, Ratchaburi and Samut Sakhon. It is the smallest Thai province Thailand. Chang and Eng, the first Siamese twins, were born here. The province is divided into three districts and 38 subdistricts. The sandbank Don Hoi Lot at the mouth is famous for its endemic population of Solen regularis. The province is considered a sacred place as it is the birthplace of Rama II.

Samut Songkhram is located at the mouth of the Mae Klong in the Gulf of Thailand. With many channels (Khlong) the river water for irrigation is distributed throughout the province. The sandbank Don Hoi Lot at the mouth is famous for its endemic population of Solen regularis. The province is considered a sacred place as it is the birthplace of Rama II. The province is full of coconut trees. The province of coconut exports in bulk to several countries in the world.
