Samut Sakhon is one of the central provinces of Thailand. its bordering provinces include Samut Songkhram, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom and Bangkok. The oldest name of the Tha Chin is probably referring to was a commercial port where Chinese junks arrived. In 1548 it established the city of Sakhon Buri, renamed in 1704 as Mahachai after the Khlong (canal) Mahachai was dredged and connected to the Tha Chin River near the city. King Mongkut called it today, although it is still the current Mahachi called by its inhabitants.
Samut Sakhon is the central province of Thailand. Thousands of tourists visit the province to attend major festivals of the province.
