Phrae is one of the main provinces of northern Thailand. Founded in the year 1371 of the Buddhist Age (828 years BC) by Pol Phaya Previously the town was called "Nakhon Pol", then changed to "Wiang Ko Sai" meaning "The garment of silk." Phrae is the area's largest reservation teak in Thailand. It was located on the banks of Rio "Yom", around 555 kilometers from Bangkok, the Thai capital. The province has been divided into 8 main districts and 78 sub districts.

Phrae is a renowned province of Thailand. When the provincial government proposed this coat in 1940, the Department of Art suggested to add the building above the animal then today is the day the pagoda "Cho Hae" above the horse. This temple is located about 9 kilometers to the southeast of the capital city of Phrae. Phrae has an area of 6 538 km ². The provincial capital is located 551 km north of Bangkok. It is surrounded by mountains and crossed by the Yom River.
