Phichit is one of the provinces of Thailand (changwat), which is located in the north. Borders, in the sense of clockwise and starting from the north, the provinces of: Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan and Kamphaeng Phet. Nan and Yom rivers cross the province, before joining the Chao Phraya. The area is a fertile coastal plain with almost no elevation, where rice and lotus as the main products. Wan Sai Phun and Ban Mun Nak are the main cities of the province.
The town of Phichit was established in 1058 by Phraya Kotabongthevaraja, and was first part of the Sukhothai Kingdom, and later the Kingdom of Ayutthaya. The name of the main town has changed on numerous occasions. First it was called Mrs Luang (royal city of the pond) in the kingdom of Ayutthaya was named Okhaburi (city in the swamp), and finally Phichit (beautiful city). Phichit is a fertile land and produces wheat and rice in bulk.
