Phetchaburi is a province of the central Thailand. The province borders with the provinces of: Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram and Prachuap Khiri Khan. To the west is bordered by Tanintharyi Division in Burma. The capital of the province is Phetchaburi city. Phetchaburi city has the largest park in Thailand known as Kareng Kracher National Park which covers almost half of the province. The province of Phetchaburi has been subdivided into 8 main districts, 93 sub-districts and over 680 villages.
Phetchaburi, the province of Thailand is located northeast of the peninsula of Malacca, the Gulf of Thailand to the east and mountains on the border with Tanaosi Burma. With excapeción of this mountainous area, the rest of the province is a vast plain. With an area close to 3000 km ² the Kaeng Kracher National Park is the largest in Thailand, covering almost half of the province. The region serves to protect an important rainforest along the Burmese border. The only significant is the Phetchaburi River.
