Pathum Thani is one of the central provinces of Thailand. The province shares border with the provinces of Ayutthaya, Saraburi, Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao, Bangkok and Nonthaburi. The province of Pathum is located in northern direction of the province of Bangkok. The province is considered as one of the major industrial regions of the country. Pathum Thani is the province of Thailand situated in the central part of Thailand. It is situated north of Bangkok and is part of the metropolis of the capital. In many areas the boundaries between the two provinces are invaluable. It is found in the alluvial plains of the Chao Phraya River, which flows through the capital. Many channels (khlongs) across the province and used to irrigate rice fields. The provincial tree is the coral of India (Erythrina variegata) and the provincial flower lotus (Nymphaea lotus).
