Nongbua Lamphu (Thai: หนองบัวลำภู, also known under the old names: Nakhonkhuenkhan Kabkaewbuaban or Mueang Kamutsaiburiram) is a city in Northeast Thailand. Nongbua Lamphu is the capital of the province and the district Nongbua Lamphu Nongbua Lamphu. The city has about 20,000 inhabitants. The province is divided into 6 districts, which in turn subdivided into 59 municipalities and 636 villages.

Nongbua Lamphu is a renowned region of Thailand. The city was already inhabited in the 9th century and was first in the kingdom Sawa and later Lan Xang. From the 16th century the city is diverse in several kingdoms. At the end of the 18th century the city became depopulated by several armies population afvoerden. After several attempts to populate the area, the city was officially re-founded in 1906 by King Rama V as the Nongbua Lamphu.
