Nan is one of the northern provinces of Thailand. Nan borders the provinces of Uttaradit, Phrae and Phayao. On North and eastern side the province borders the Xaignabouli of Laos. The province is located in the remote valley of the River Nan, surrounded by mountains and is covered by forests. The highest mountain of the province is Phu Khe on north-eastern side of the province and shares border Laos. Nan has 15 districts and 99 sub-districts.

Nan is the province of Thailand and is situated in the northern region of the country. Nan has a rich history. In the fifteenth century, when Sukhothai kingdom went into decline, Nan became the most valuable area of the kingdom of Lannathai. Nan at that time was considered as one of the most developed regions of the country. Nan is a famous tourist resort as most part of the province is covered with green forests and high altitude green mountains.
