Kamphaeng Phet is one of the provinces of Thailand, located in the northern part of the country. Neighboring provinces (from north clockwise), Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Nakhon Sawan, and so. The word means Kamphaeng wall and floor Phet from Sanskrit vajra meaning diamond (or weapons of Indra). Hence the meaning of the name of the province is diamond wall. The main river is the Ping edges, one of the sources in the Chao Phraya River. The river flats make up most of the eastern provinces, while in the west mostly mountains, covered with forests.

Kamphaeng Phet province of Thailand is known. One of the most famous products of the province is a banana. Banana festivals are held in the province each year to thank the gods for the harvest. Kamphaeng Phet has been a royal city in the Sukhothai kingdom in the 14 st century, then known by its old name Chakangrao. It has established a significant role in the defense system in the kingdom, and later in the Ayutthaya kingdom.
