Kalasin is one of the provinces in Thailand, located on the north-east Thailand. Neighboring provinces (from north clockwise) Sakon Nakhon, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Maha Sarakham, Khon Kaen and Udon Thani. Most of the province is covered by hilly terrain. To the north is Lam Pao dam was built 1963-68, storing 1430 million m ³ of water for flood control and agriculture.
