Al Buraimi is the newest governorate of Oman, who separated the announcement Dhahirah region. Until October 2006, the region was part of the announcement Dhahirah region. At this point, the new government was created from the wilayate Buraymi and Al Mahdah. A third Wilayat Al Sinaihah was created from parts of the two. The city of Al Buraymi is an oasis city in northern Oman, bordering the United Arab Emirates.

Al Buraimi is considerably smaller than the nearby city of Al Ain is visible and less prosperous. The streets are not named in Al Buraimi and development could be viewed as "pieces of meal" with large villas, which are often a few meters of roads, trails do not occur outside the main streets. Before moving the border (see above) is quite common for expatriates in Al Ain to rent houses and apartments, as they were about 50% of the equivalent of a villa and apartment in Al Ain.
