Mubarak Al-Kabeer is one of the governorates of Kuwait which mainly houses residential areas. It was created in 2000 when the Hawalli governorate was divided into two. It has about 180,000 inhabitants. Al-Qurain in a residential area in Kuwait Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorate. The name is also a former name of the State of Kuwait.
Al-Kabeer is situated northeast of Saudi Arabia, at the north end of the Persian Gulf, southern Iraq. The lowlands are mostly desert and barren sand. Al-Kabeer is a constitutional monarchy headed by the al-Sabah family. Al-Kabeer is suspected to have been part of an ancient civilization in the 3rd millennium BC, and who negotiated with the cities of Mesopotamia. In the early 18th century, the tribe of central Arabia founded Anizah Kuwait City, which became autonomous sheikdom in 1756.
