Semnan is the famous province of Iran. It is within the northern of the homeland, and its center is Semnan. The province of Semnan wrappings an approximate area of 96,816 square kilometers and expands along the Alborz hill flavor and corners towards Dasht-e Kavir wasteland within its south parts. Counties of the province contain Semnan, Damghan, Shahrood and Garmsar. In 1996, the province had a settlement of approximately 501,000, and within 2005 Semnan town (the capital of the province) had a settlement of 119,778.

Semnan is one of the most populated provinces of Iran. The province is divorce into two parts: a mountainous district, and the plains at the base of the mountains. The previous boasts a capacity recreational undertakings as well as being a cause for minerals, whilst the last referred includes a number of very vintage towns of Iran as one of the capitals of the Parthian domain was established here. Neighbours are within the North Golestan, Mazandaran, at the West Tehran, Qom, at the South Isfahan and at the East Khorasan-e Razavi.
