Ilam, furthermore appreciate as Elam Kurdish, is the famous province of Iran. It is within the south-west of the homeland, bordering Iraq. Its regional center is the town of Ilam. Covering an approximate area of 19,086 square kilometers, the towns of the province are Ilam, Mehran, Dehloran, Dareh Shahr, Shirvan and Chardavol, Aivan and Abdanan. It allies Khuzestan province within the south, Lurestan province within the east, Kermanshah province within the northern and Iraq within the west with 425 kilometers of prevalent border. The settlement of the province is roughly 540,000 fellows (2005 estimate).
Ilam province is amidst the warmer communities of Iran. The mountainous localities of northern and northern eastern Ilam are quite freezing however. Average annual rainfall within the province is 578 mm. In 1996, unconditional extreme warmth was 38 °C within August and the smallest warmth signed was 0.4 °C within February. The number of very cold days within winter was 27 days. Ilam's biggest print is the top Kabir Kuh at 2790 m, portion of the Zagros Mountains.
