Indre-et-Loire is a area in west-central France named following the Indre and the Loire rivers. Its region gathers almost the entire former Touraine province, more the eastern part of the Anjou province. Weather in the subdivision is temperate. Actually, the Loire River, which runs throughout the department, is said to be the weather border between the north and the south of France. Thus, summers are usually quite hot (around 30°C), while winters are not too cold (no less than -10°C). After all, pluviometry is somewhat low (between 500 and 700mm per year).
