Corrèze (Occitan: Corresa) is a department in south central France, named after the Corrèze River. Corrèze is one of the unusual 83 departments formed during the Revolution of France on March 4, 1790. Corrèze consists of part of the previous province of Limousin. The department is part of the existing region of Limousin. It is bounded by the subdivision of Haute-Vienne, Cantal, Creuse, Lot, Puy-de-Dôme, and Dordogne. Tulle is the prefecture of Corrèze and Brive-la-Gaillarde the largest city.

Correze is the southern department of the Limousin region of France, sandwiched between the Dordogne to the west and the Auvergne to the east. The department is approximately cut partly by the A89 motorway that leads to the Dordogne and Bordeaux and passes from north-east to south-west through the Correze department. The innate beauty is the noteworthy character of the southern Correze that take on southwards into the Lot department and westwards into the Dordogne, hence why the region is especially popular.
